Re: Heated Seats?

I've never seen or heard of a USM SVX (or any SVX for that matter) equipped with heated seats. The other Subaru models that have them have rocker switches for them on the console between the seats. I'm guessing you don't have those...

Re: Heated Seats?

For the North American market some Canadian SVX's have heated seats... the control switches are located where the coin holder is just to the right of the steering column.

Re: Heated Seats?

No SVX in the U.S. Market ever came with heated seats; only available to Canada in the North American Market.

As stated, the two switches (one for each seat) were housed in the spot occupied by the coin holders in the 1992-1995 cars.

Beginning in 1996, the OBDII connector occupied that location. I don't know where the heated seat switches were moved to at that point.

Re: Heated Seats?

The other side most likely, Canada never got the security system.

.
It was also an option in the Euro market. I have seen a seller on ebay.com.de selling heated seat parts.

Re: Heated Seats?

Standard on all UK Svx's, switches are to the left of steering column- low down, Jap imports have a coin holder located there.

Re: Heated Seats?

Does anyone know how the heated seat circuit works? Is it just switched 12V into the heater coils in the seats? I pulled some heated seats out of an outback wagon to put in my Legacy GT wagon which never had that option, to my knowledge, and I'd like to be able to use the heater function.

Re: Heated Seats?

The parts are really pricey from the dealer etc. it is a Canada, EU, AUS option only. USDM never got the option. top alone per seat I believe last I checked ran 500 per seat. There are a few new aftermarket universal seat heaters available from a couple manufacturers, I will check at SEMA this week and see if anyone else is offering them, but you should be able to use a universal and just wire it in with either EU spec, Canada, or AUS etc. buttons or do a custom button setup. I was contemplating doing it, however parts on it seem to be way too expensive to make it worth it.

You can get the OEM switch new from Subaru. Will probably run about $80 or more. The wiring however, you must do yourself. And you can just use the heated seat elements from an outback seat and put them in the SVX seat.

*credit to Mike Davis aka Green1995SVX for this info.

So basically, a few hours of time, about $150 or less (depends on jy price of the seats) and you can have heated seats that would appear to belong there
