BBQed feet

My car is toasting my feet. There's searing hot air coming in somewhere near the gas pedal. The foot area heats up enough that I can wear sandals in winter w/o turning on the heat, but I'll burn my toes if I hold my foot in the hovering position above the gas pedal. Now I've got a red burn on my toes and I'm a bit concerned about where that heat's coming from and if it's hot enough to toast my car? Any clue why this is happening and what I should do about it?

nope. Turn on the climate control and turn the temp down. Then shut the climate control off. This should stop the hat air from flowing in

The last time my climate control was on it was set for 65, can it go lower? My tranny temp gauge is showing the usual, nothing alarming. The toasted feet thing has been going on for a month or two, gradually getting more noticable.

kinda off topic, but my heat only comes under the dash and vents by the windshield. should the heat also be coming from the vents near the radio and what not?

Subaru decided we only needed cool air coming out of the dash vents, A/C or outside air, no heat.

The warm feet thing is fixable. Wear really, really heat reflective shoes. Or, you can fiddle with the climate control. I usually hit circ, vent, or turn it to a cold setting and turning it off. Usually thatll fix it

You live in Sunny So Cal, you don't know anything about heaters . . .

If you're set to auto or economy, the ducting will change from dash vents (cooling) to floor vents (heating) as needed.

i know, i was trying to say turn the a/c on auto to see if anything is coming out of the bottom, vents it sounds like the heater might be stuck on, like the door is not shutting in the vent
