Fuse panel

I need a picture of the fuses that are SUPPOSED to be in the engine compartment fuseblock, either that or the diagram that shows which fuse is which, I am wondering why some things arent working (MIRRORS, CIG LIGHTER) and all the fuses in the kick panel are just fine so I am hoping that just maybe there is another fuse and not a whole wiring cluster-f***.... Thanks guys
PS Got the Pirelli P-zero Nero M&S today.. Loving them

Thats what I thought too.... That means there is a wiring problem I still would like a diagram of what is supposed to be in the engine compartment fuseblock because there is a couple fuses missing, not sure if that is normal or not... And no I am not looking at the spare fuse spots

isn't that on the cap part of the fuse cover?
or is that just a sticker ~ if it is, maybe yours is gone.
i know that there are a few things missing in there

There will be at least one fuse missing there. There are also spares that may or not be there.

Here is the Fuse Box diagram. There is only one fuse that should be missing. That is the 10A FWD fuse in the lower right. Putting a fuse in there puts your car in FWD mode

I had a similar problem. My wipers stopped working in the front and every time I put in a fuse, no matter what size, it blew.

The first thing my mechanic did was to disconnect everything that was fed by that circuit (Fuse #2) He disconnected the wiper combination switch in the steering column, the front wiper, rear wiper, control module and a lot more and the fuse still blew.

That led him to the fuse block itself. While moving the fuse block he could hear the sizzle of a short circuit. Thinking it was a bad connection in the fuse block, he removed the fuse block and installed an inline fuse, bypassing the FB11 circuit. When plugging the harness to the wiper control module back in the fuse blew again.

Upon closer inspection he found that the control module harness had been routed improperly during the car's manufacture and the green/red power feed wire to this circuit was pinched between the back of the fuse block and the body. It took 9 years of vibration and whatever else for the insulation to chafe and finally wear through and short to ground.

The SVX Master Tech repaired the shorted wire and rerouted the harness properly to avoid this ever happening again and thoroughly checked and rechecked every harness, connection and function.

The fuse curcuit (#3) 20A, controls the cigarette lighter, the outside rearview mirrors and the heated mirror defogger. I would see if maybe somehow the 12V power lead from the cigarette lighter has loosened and is touching a ground somewhere. Do you use the cigarette lighter for anything, like a cell phone, radar detector, etc?

Who's your mechanic?

Svxcess, it sounds like you have found a smart mechanic. Care to post a recommendation for the rest of us Marylanders?

The wizard I used is Rick Waterman at Heritage Subaru. I ttok the SVX electrical witing diagrams to him to help him out, but he had his own set. His ability to follow the electrical wiring diagrams and determine what he needed to do was amazing! Just watching him trace the circuits across multiple pages was a joy.

Anyway, he is working as a SVX Master Tech at

Heritage Subaru Owings Mills
9808 Reisterstown Rd
Owings Mills, MD 21117
410-363-8300

Another dealer that I have had great luck with is

Wilkins Subaru
6913 Ritchie Highway
Glen Burnie, MD 21061
410-689-8092

There are two master techs there, John and Charlie. They also extend parts discounts to SVX Network and to NASIOC, the basic discount is List - 20%. Contact Robyn in parts
