More on bearings

Kat;

Check this thread: http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/showthread.php?t=31309

I ended up buying my bearings from SubaruParts.com and seals from AutoZone. Timken is temporarly out of stock or I would have bought the bearings from Autozone also.

Waiting for better weather to install. I plan to remove hubs and use the press at work to remove/install bearings. I would not do this myself without the proper tools - good way to cause future (not too distant) problems!

Because I was not sure about the grease in the bearings I have already repacked the new bearings. Cheap insurance.

Good luck with yours.

Tom

Seal?

To my knowledge I do not know of anyone that has had any success with seals made by OTHER than Subaru. So, be prepared to buy seals again from Subaru.

Theres always going to be a better aftermarket grease. Subaru no longer has issues with what they are using. I know a subaru tech who owns an SVX and has already put 80k on a 4 year set of bearings with no trouble and no comebacks on customers cars.
