Question belly pan hardware

Anyone out there know the part #'s for the belly pan hardware? Mine are pretty stripped from years of the techs using an air wrench to remove/install.

I'd like to replace both the bolts and the fasteners to which it attaches.

Oh, any ideas as to a better $olution than the $ubaru $tealership's Parts Dept.?

Thanks in advance for your consideration!

The bolts that hold the belly pan (Engine shroud) up are part number 57719AA020 from Subaruparts.com. They are $.98 each. I don't know it that is what you were looking for or not. Let me know.

I busted off a few of my bolts, too, so I got the replacements from subaruparts.com. I thought they sent me the wrong bolts, but they checked again and they sent (what was listed to be) the correct ones that Subaru spec's. The replacements don't have that nice shouldered area on the shaft- they're all thread.

Now I have to get underneath and drill out the remaining pieces of bolt still in there. Should be lots of fun. I'm waiting for a nice spring day to do that.........

The nuts are welded to the radiator support. I have one that the welds broke. I have no way to get it out without major metal surgery so it just rattles along.

Let me see if I've got this right?

The threaded "female" recepticles are welded to the sheet metal and the Original OEM Part # 57719AA020 bolts ( "male") had a "nice shouldered area on the shaft"?

So I guess I better 1st pull all of them off in order to find out which part or parts are actually stripped?

I guess I could also just re-tap the female portions and go with a one-size bigger bolt?

This male/female stuff is almost making me

Suggestions?

p.s. Thanks, Earl, for a wonderful Maintenance Meet!

You are welcome. I had a great time and got some repairs done on my car too! The best part was meeting members who I had not met before. I look forward to seeing every one again soon.

Cool Wheel Paint

Earl, I picked up a can of the $4.99 DupliColor wheel paint in Graphite: it is a little darker than the '92 OEM color, about as much as their Silver is lighter than the later wheel color. Interestingly it is pretty close to the Gray on the lower cladding on one of my Mercedes, and seemed to work well as a touch-up.

Nice thing about it is that it doesn't seem to need a primer on the wheel centers (which I had sanded down to the plastic) nor does it mention any primer vis-a-vis metal wheels.

I'll bring it next time. It is supposed to be more resistant to oil, grease, brake dust & fluid than the regular paints...

Cheers!
