Spent some time with some STi's Today.

I took about an hour at Lancaster County Motors today to get to know the Sti. I took a ton of pics, and I'll post them later when I can get on my Mac and upload the pics. What a piece of machinery that car is. I was VERY impressed with how everything is geared for performance without compromise. The dealer I work for got one yesterday, but sold it already while I'm on vacation, so I had to go to LCM to check them out. hehe.

Will post pics later.

Did they let you touch it without a bib? I'm heading to Harry's on Saturday in case you need anything/wanna go. Was that Hatch a 4wd that you saw?

Rob-

Yes, I use a Powerbook G4 Ti 400. I've had it for almost two years and it has been a fantastic machine. Before I had that, i was running a Powerbook Duo 2300c. I had nothing but good luck with that computer, too.

They were actually very nice there today, and let me take quite a few pics of the STi's. I was happy with my expierance there today. I cant go to Harry's. I'll be back in Pittsburgh by the time Saturday rolls around. I believe the hatch was a 4wd, but dont quote me on it. It was in pretty good shape though overall.

Cool man. I have a 1st generation iMac, but it's extremely modified. 600mhz Harmoni G3 upgrade, with firewire port, 768 megs ram, 120 gig HD with 7200rpm, custom graphics on the inside of the Rev D case, Rev A motherboard with a mezzanine slot so I could hook up the gamewizard voodoo2, and to top it off I wired EL cable in the back of the thing so the whole computer lights up radioactive green. L33T yo! I have the fastest most modded 1st gen iMac in the world! Muha!

AAhhh Droool, any one want to buy an SVX? First $32,400 takes it.

That is one serious machine. Not to sure about the 82 bass boat black with the blue carpeted interior but, what a sweet car.

Hard to tell from the pics , but what model non allseason Bridgstones does that car have on it.?

Anyone seen the sti video - it was floating around I-club - A guy already modified his and took it to the track and ate a vette, cobra, lightning, eclipse, and a couple other performance cars. I'll try to find a direct link but I got it somewhere from nasioc.

Agreed - those tires are evil - what are they?

They are Bridgestone Potenza RE070, and are most definitely NOT allseasons. They are incredibly sticky track oriented sport tires, they just happen to have a tread pattern designed purely for function and not for form. I think the treadwear is like 140.

They are also original equipment on the Japanese market Honda NSX-R track edition.

Mike,
thanks for the pics...I was good until I got to the one with the $32k price tag .... Is the hood scoop functional (i.e. does it have a flapper valve?) - couldn't tell from the pics....what's up with the rear spoiler? looks like we should hook a tow line to it and go water skiing
I'm almost afraid to call my insurance agent and find out how much insurance would be on one of these "beasts"

Bill,

The hood scoops on all WRXs, not just the STi, are functional. They have no flapper valves, but they do supply outside air to cool the intercooler.

Additionally, the STi has a manual water sprayer for the intercooler.

My Humble Opinion:
Really Nice Mechanicals and Ugly Styling much like the new Z-car.

Why don't they gut the old body off and put a nicely styled
2-seater on it that looks like a Miata or an old Bertone Alfa?

Than they could charge $40K for it.
