HELP!!!car wont start

my car died on sunday, i have figured out that i am not getting fuel, what soever, i know that the big brow relay under the dash is buzzing but dont know why, i know it is related to the fuel system and it has only started buzzing since my car died, i cant figure out if my fuel pump is bad or it is simply wiring, i know i am getting 12v and ground to the fuel pump, any suggestions????

Is it showing a 'check engine ' light? If so check the code to see what it is.

The big brown relay could be the main relay, that is buzzing, could be the contacts buzzing, but as you have power to the pump, I don't think it is the problem.

Check for codes.

Harvey.

I smell broken starter. I think it's solenoid contacts...it is almost every other time.

I assume that he has determined fuel is the problem, because he has checked spark and the engine turns. It does turn, right?

If you lay under the back of the car and have someone turn on the ignition, Do you hear the fuel pump run? If you don't hear it run and your getting 12V and ground at the pump, Then the pump is toasted. You'll have to drop the tank and replace it.

my pump is fine, i pulled the top cover of the tank off today and hotwired it, the motor does crank, and i have not checked for spark yet, but i have had an electrical engineer test the relay and he says its fine, i am now on to the fact that i have an electrical problem somewhere, thus my car is gutted and i am going throught the wiring harness to figure out what could be wrong, should be done in the next couple of days because i will simply take the entire harness out of my parts car if mine is being to conspicuous to fix

Did you check for any codes?

Does the fuel pump run without being hotwired and just turning on the ignition? Check for spark too ASAP. Once it's determined that the fuel pump does run with the igniton and that there is spark, We can go from there. Have you checked for fuel pressure at the fuel rail? Maybe clogged fuel filter???

for some reason the car wont show any codes at all, like the check engine light will not even turn on, not even in the normal 1/4sec intervals, i dont have spark and the fuel pump will only run if hotwired, i have started to check the harness and it is not looking good, i checked continuity between two plugs in the harness and one wire from one side leads to 4 wires on another plug, i tried a dif spot on the same plug, and the other plug showed the same 4 wires, this is probably the cause of the buzzing relay.

You may want to check if someone (previous owner) removed the check engine light.

You might want to check your security system before you go any farther.

i know the check engine light was not removed because i have seen it many times in the past, it was even flashing right before the car died, and i have checked the alarm, i also know that there is a short circuit or dead something or other in the electrical from reading continuities between wires

Do all the other lights in the dash light up? It sounds like the ECU itself has lost it's power supply. Have you gone through all the fuses? Find out which wires are power and ground on the ECU and test them. Wish I could tell you which ones they are, But I have no schematics right now. Make sure the plugs are in tight on the ECU also. No check engine light indicates no power to the ECU or a fried ECU, So look into it. Good luck.
