Good point Huck. Flood damaged car's are a real nightmare. Knew a guy that bought a Stealth with prior flood damage, and within a year that thing was at the junkyard. Just too many things expensive little things needed fixing...

P.S. Hope I'm doing justice to your former trans... It seems to have been rebuilt very strongly!

So, basically.. You're saying have it checked, rechecked and checked again before even considering a purchase..

Got it. Is flood damage readily apparent to your average mechanic if they're looking for it?

If not.. Best way to have it checked for such?

Chike,
Glad my old tranny is seaving duty in a great car, with a caring owner (and glad it's holding up well )

As for looking for flood damage....try to pull the carpet back, lots of time there will be dirt under the carpet (a little is normal), but excesive amounts would be a sign of being under water, look up under the dash for corosion, which is another sign of water damage....

A lot of times, carfax would screw up. I have a car on one of our lots that have a TMU statement on carfax but have a clean title with the right numbers from the state. It happens a lot of times. Carfax is just a guide. It's not a holy grail.

seems like everyone here thinks it has a rebuilt title. he said that carfax had it has a rebuilt title the title itself is clean. i figure that this car may very well have a clean title.

Thanks! I definitely baby it when it's not a the track and change the ATF often.

I'm hoping to get a 14.9 out of her next year!
