Just a note

The SVX is back in the tranny shop...again.

Now, since the last time I asked for sympathy it caused alot of grief , this is not for pity and the such. Just letting you know.

It appears to be a pressure problem (both me and the tranny) and they are replacing the "EPC". Should be done tomorrow.

I also had a Transgo kit installed. As of yet I noticed no difference in performance. I was hoping for a firmer shift.

I hope I get it back tomorrow and in reliable shape. I have to drive about 5 hours away from home and back next week.

If you like, you may provide some sympathy but I AM NOT ASKING FOR IT...

Randy (Trying to stay outta trouble) ii

ps: I guess the battery being disconnected and reconnected so many times that it angered the climate control. I get AC even when on "vent". I'll look up that "reset" thread now.

Just imagine how easy life will be once these things are taken care of.

Hey Randy,

Where'd you go to get it fixed? Mastro?

Hey Jeff,

Nope. I had the work done by a shop in Hudson. It's run by an aquaintence of mine. This is actually warranty work from the rebuild last year in February. It's fixed (again). I'll see how long it lasts.

B-T-W, Did you ever replace your SVX?

I know there are other posts about the shift kit. From what I understand it's not really a "performance" kit. (I did not know this when I ordered it) It corrects some issues rather than change performance. An example would be more direct lubrication to the planetary gears. I'm not certain what else.

The tech who did the work on mine also drilled out a hole (I know not which one) from 78/1000ths to 90/1000ths. This did make the difference of a firmer shift. Once home I have adjusted the TPS and now it really runs great! Firm shift and it takes less pedal to get it to down shift. "Power Mode" comes on sooner now but not too soon. The car is much more responsive now. Sorta "peppy".

Hey Randy:

I replaced my SVX 15 months ago with a 2002 Hyundai Elantra GT. Not as bad as you think, nice little car. I do have it up on Ebay tho because I am bored with it already and want something different. I have my eye on a 2000 Cadillac Catera Sport and there's also a 1996 SVX for sale in St. Pete!!!!!

Good luck with your tranny. Glad you got it fixed under warranty.

Jeff
