left hookers ??
On a previous thread us "europeans" were talking about some british sports cars which at present do not appear on the US subcontinent, namely TVR Tamora and Noble M12.
Well, as reported on "PistonHeads" both these vehicles are being offered as left hand drive for the Italian market. I know is only half the battle with making a european vehicle "federalised", but it's a step in the right direction. http://www.pistonheads.com/tvr/default.asp?storyId=6518 Phil.

TVR
Thanks, I'm drooling all over my cubicle now! Who's gonna clean up the mess. Now, if TVR would only restart the Speed12 project, import it here, there would be no more need for these hideous Viper's to be allowed to show their ugly faces.

Have you viewed this bad boy? It's a beautiful example of a GT Coupe. Makes the Viper look like a HS plastics project. The vehicles that TVR have made are simply amazing considering its a small, low production cottage industry. Even the 280i (last car imported to the US in the early/mid 80's) outshines most designs of the day. All with a tiny budget. The mid 90s Griffith had a v-8 in it and did 0-60 in the mid 4 range top end about 170. That was the last independent specs that I saw. I'm sure a 12 cyl would be down in McLarean territory. All with a company that spends less in development than BMW spent on the door handle for the new 745i. Lwin, you like that VW comment. Nothing but the truth. They just quashed a strike in Mexico. Workers wanted a 20% raise. From $10 a day to $12. That was just unacceptable to VW.

A few links for your delectation in case you missed the earlier threads......
http://www.pistonheads.com/tvr/griffith/ http://www.pistonheads.com/tvr/speed12.htm http://www.pistonheads.com/tvr/chimaera/default.htm http://www.pistonheads.com/tvr/Tamora/launch.htm http://www.pistonheads.com/tvr/tusca...p?storyId=5810 http://www.pistonheads.com/roadtests...p?storyId=2764 http://www.noblecars.com/m12.html Phil. Edited to say : In the "supercar" issue of EVO magazine there was an interview about the "road going" version of the Speed 12 with Peter Wheeler, ceo of TVR. He said it was silly to have that much power in such a light weight car on the highway. The race car with it's inlet restrictors "only" made 600bhp, the road car engine broke TVR's engine dyno..... twice !! and the dyno is rated at a cool 1000bhp.......... Hmmmmm

I really dig the Griffith. I'm not really into TVR's recent styling, but whatever.
Someday I'd like to at least take a 280i for a spin...

If there was a similar site for rotary engine aficionados, should it then be called www.wankelers.com? Joe
