PVC Valve Help!
I tried the 19mm crowsfoot to try to replace the PVC Valve. It looks as if the 19mm is slipping to the point of stripping the old PCV. It appears that the PVC was never initially changed. I was turning it the correct way. It appears that I won't have any luck with 19mm crowsfoot. Anyone have any luck or suggestions how to get the PVC out by using a box-end wrench? Anyother tool that might work? If you used a box end wrench, how did you have the leverage to get the PVC out? Help!! Anyone with ideas?

If worse comes to worse you can always remove the manifold. I'm sure there will be other ideas before you come to that, though.

I don't know any tricks to get that valve out. But, just for future reference, PVC is a kind of pipe and PCV refers to a system on modern auto engines (positive crankcase ventilation) - of which the valve you want to remove is a part.

Did you see the how to on this operation? Just wondered. The one thing is mentions is (now don't take this wrong, because I have done this before too!!! yep, me ) is to make sure you are turning the wrench the proper direction. Now, before you say of course not, remember that you are using a crows foot (what - not an end wrench!!!) That sometimes throws people off on the proper direction to turn it. Good luck. Nothing is simple is it. A 15 min. job usually turns into a day and a half project!!!

You CAN use a box-end wrench to remove the PCV valve. That's how mine was changed. Go out and buy a cheap wrench and have the box-end heated and bent to maybe a 45°-60° (or more) angle. You should then use the wrench in combination with a set of pliers (or vice-grip) to undo the pcv valve.
They really got those things on there tight when they assembled our engines!!

I have an old box end wrench that I will have a family friend weld me at approx. 70 degrees. I hope that will work!
