Heh, I was just about to mention that one! I remember that from Knight Rider's prime, when Trans Ams were really hot. (as far as I could tell, that's the car Turbo Teen was supposed to be)

I love how you can find all this stuff on the web now.

For some reason, this phrase really cracks me up...

"Brett trusted no one—aside from his girlfriend Pattie, his buddy Alex, and the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT—with his chrome-plated secret."

Seems to me like a pretty broad range of people to trust. Ahh the good ol' innocent 80's when there were no govt. conspiracy plots in entertainment.

Remember the SUX2000 cop cars in Robocop?

How about Charlie Sheen in The Wraith? For those with broadband or a lot of patience: http://www.angelfire.com/80s/thewraith/

How about the 'ultimate' car (or something) flick.

The Big Bus (ca. 1975)

As I recall, when I watched that movie, I kept asking myself why I continued to sit there. Then. The next day at work, I caught myself laughing out loud several times (and looking around to see if anyone was watching).

You're right, Larry, that's how it started. (otherwise the Delorean would have been one of my first on the list) Movie possibilities are endless, as there are a lot more of them.

My bad. I probably got us "off topic" when I mentioned the Cord from "The Shadow." I should be ashamed for taking us "off topic." "Off topic" posts should be banned.

HA!!! Good point! You should be ashamed!

Hey really though, I think this thread has stayed closest to the original topic as just about any in recent memory.

I am a pessimistic optimistic. I think the worst is going to happen, that way when it does, i don't feel as bad, but if the best happens, i am twice as happy.

Coyote

Not sure if anyone's mentioned it yet ( just skimmed through a few posts) one of the best (in my opinion) obscure/TV car has to be the Coyote from Hardcastle and McCormack. I know it was a kit based kind of on the Can-Am cars(actully a little bit modified Manta Montage kit). I am pretty sure they kept more than one on hand too..stunts ,etc... Not sure of power plant...sounded pretty mean though...could have been dubbed too. Body-wise was one of the coolest designs I've seen...even still today. But In my book the 308's from Magnum are my favorite..timeless,flat,fast and cool not to mention the best tv show there ever was. This might also be of interesthttp://www.codeoneauto.com
