Boston Blackie

Larry, I loved "Boston Blackie". When he drove over a piece of paper, the car would bottbm out it was so low. This was my first exposure to "MODDED" cars. BOBB

Cool

Let's not forget the off-the-wall '70s TV movie, "Dual" with Dennis Weaver in his Dodge Dart sedan relentlessly pursued by that seemingly driverless, dirty purple, 18 wheel tanker truck.

"Two Lane Blacktop" - '70s cult classic that I've never seen.
Warren Oates & James Taylor.

Late '50s "Thunder Road" with Robert Mitchum & son Jim outrunnin' southern law in souped up Fords filled with southern "shine". I think Aredub had a bit part in it. He said "Come back Shane"!
Opps, wrong memory. (PS - anyone remember who uttered those words?)

Ron.

Cool

BTW: Didn't the Starship Voyager find a '27 Ford pickup in the Delta quadrant. [/B][/QUOTE]

I don't know about that, but Woody Allen DID find a VW Beetle stowed away in a future cave in "Sleeper".

Another quiz question. Another VW Beetle had a bit part in a 'mid-70s movie. (NO, not Herbie). This VW belonged to a neighbor of the main protagonists, & it kept getting better & better gas mileage for a while. Name the movie.

"Duel" was Speilberg's first flick.

Now that you've mentioned airwolf, how about "blue thunder"? Another chopper series.

I like the newer sub show SeaWolf.

ramblings of a sleep deprived mind

The Fall Guy always drove or crashed something too.
Transformers were cars too....kinda.

As far as movies go...

Cannonball Run of course.. 70's and 80's I think?
Mad Max etc etc
The love bug.. about 4 decades of those movies.

Can you tell I'm bored?

How about 3rd Rock from the Sun with a bright red Rambler.

Or does anyone remember what kind of car did Kramer put his "ASSMAN" license plate on ?. And which model SAAB did Jerry drive.

Also, the security chief on Babylon 5 refurbished some kind of Kawasaki motorcycle.

In real life:

What about the Lunar Rover....it only cost 200 million $ and it's still sitting up there just waiting to be salvaged. I wonder how much a car collector museum would pay for it.

I was scrolling down the list to see if anyone was going to mention "Hardcastle and McCormick". Good thinking, Huck! It was my favorite of the "car shows". Good stories and likable characters and it wasn't an insult to the watcher's intelligence. And was there a sexier car than that Coyote? (aside from the SVX of course but that's a given )

I give up!

I have Googled for a half hour (no wisecracks from the peanut gallery!) without any luck at all. I cannot find the name for the tv series I am thinking of. Does anyone else remember the show from the 80's that was based loosely on "Tron"? It was about this programmer who's game character came to life along with his car and they were both made of electricity and were not bound to the physical laws of our universe but behaved to the laws of physics from the game. The car he drove was a Vector W8 that had neon lights tracing the edges of the car so it looked like something from Tron. He could take 90 degree turns into alleys at 200mph and could accelerate to 400mph in an instant or stop in an instant as well. The make of the car in the show remained a mystery to my friends and I until we discovered the "Vector", a rare attempt at an American Supercar in the 1980's that I'm sure most of us here recall very well.

If anyone can remember the show please post it's name. My buddy at work and I are racking our brains but neither can recall it. It's going to drive us insane!

That was AUTOMAN. He could also turn his vehicle into a helicopter, jet, boat, and other modes of transportation which I can't remember right now.

Then there was the TV series knockoff of Smokey & The Bandit, shortened to just The Bandit. He drove a black Stealth, but I watched it for the girl. She went from a Nicklodeon TV show to the TV series to that stripper movie. Probably moved on into real pr0n now...lol.

I was saying "Come back, shine!" I hate it when folks run off with our good corn squeezin's and export it North.

It was Brandon DeWilde that uttered those words (name the breed of dog that co-starred with Brandon in "Weep No More My Lady").
