Question Removing CD Player Face Plate?

Could someone please post a How-To on the removal of the stock CD Player's face? I want to trade with someone, as some of my lights are burnt out.

Thanks in advance, guys.

Mike

CD Faceplate

I haven't done it with the CD but the radio just pops on and off. Just becareful not to bend anything while your in there or you'll be in the same boat.

aren't you parting out a car? why not trade just for a fully functional system. I'm just one of many who have removed the stock system. Like others I wanted to get away from the skipping that occurs on CD-Rs.

although I can't afford one now (will the SVX repair cycle ever take a holiday), when the time comes I'll go with a Nakamichi unit. they are well understated in appearance and have a long term audiophile reputation. try their site under mobile audio and look at the 35/40/45 series. I've seen the 35 for as little as 200 bucks. I'm holding out for the 45 series - about $330 on the net.

P.S. I meant offer to trade someone on the forum a part of equivalent value from your parts car for their CD unit & see if anybody was willing.

well....the black cover for the cd player essentially pops right off with the help of a screwdriver to pry a bit, and then to get the board w/ the bulbs off, you unscrew the screw which sits in the middle of the board, and pull gently. and presto, there ya go.

I am so smart, I am so smart....S-M-R-T, oops i mean S-M-A-R-T

Thats a good description of that unit Mike.
I went to the Nakamichi site Lee,very nice. That is exactly what I would be looking for if I ever have to replace my factory unit. You could almost mistake one of those for a factory unit if you were not looking close.

Hell, I thought your previous unit was going to send me into an epileptic fit Mike! I'm old but sheesh, it's not like I'm as old as Ron! (just in case he comes in here)

Nah, it doesnt have any of the sony type crap in it..and the large screen is good for all your adjustments if you are into higher end audio...Also only reason i have it is cause i got it factory direct for 280 and it is the best CD/MD player i have seen yet.
