How are European License Plates Mounted?

Hi,

How are European License Plates Mounted on the front bumper?

Is there a 'long' version of the plate 'tag' mount for Euro versions?

Here in New Zealand, we have plates that don't fit properly on the JDM mount.. If there was a Euro mount, I could get a Euro sized plate to fit.

I cant tell from the photos that i have found, hence the question.

Regards
Daniel Parker

Re: How are European License Plates Mounted?

I took the JDM license mount off and fitted the NZ plate directly to the bumper.
My NZ car has the same JDM plate mount as my JDM.

Yes.. my NZ Plate is mounted directly onto my bumper (badly). I plan on getting the Euro mount and Euro plates.

Its not the frames, but the actual front mount that I am interested in.

Re: How are European License Plates Mounted?

That will probably be an OEM part. I have successfully bought european-spec SVX parts from Bell & Colvill in the UK and they ship internationally. The German SVX's use the same Euro mount as the UK

Re: How are European License Plates Mounted?

Daniel,

did you check out mine - because it was on an earlier car (Honda Civic Turbo, with skirts all around) - I had to cut it down to fit into the recess area at the rear - using a mill to get sides square with top/bottom..

That plate is now at the front of the SVX - and it is the same size as the mounting plate.
