From this photo, looks like he did somethihng separately for the cladding. The area of the cladding is taped off. Dave has got the crappiest camera. He did a lot of stuff separately, removed from the car, like the sunroof and the mirrors. The hood was off for a while (I had a really lousy picture of that). The bumpers were also off, as was the grille. The rear wing gave him a lot of trouble.

Not clear exactly how he did it, but the joint between the door metal and the cladding is not painted over. I have the car back and the paint job is very good. I need a nice sunny day for photography and a location not under trees, so there aren't tree reflections all over the car.

Because the cladding is plastic it is usually painted with a different paint, one with an additive. The bumpers would also have this same paint.

Close inspection of the cladding reveals that it was painted separately. Definitely separate from door. Door paint goes up under clading. Don't know how far, didn't take cladding off. Clading paint continues around edge of cladding. Does not intersect with door.

Dave has done several SVX's for other members of the forum.
