Re: Painting my car

My 2₵, Replace the back bumper, door, hood and fender with junkyard or parts from someone parting theirs out. Get a body shop to pull out the dent in the rear and you're good to go. If you find this stuff at a pick and pull, it will be less than $400. You may have to be patient waiting for a teal one to come along. I did the same thing with my legacy and was happy with the results.

Re: Painting my car

im already replacing the drivers door, but i need a passenger front fender still...i can get the dent in the rear out with some body hammers and i plan on sanding down the bumper.

Re: Painting my car

My two choices would be charcoal or orange. Orange because I only saw one other that color. Love yellow but now have seen 4 that color . Charcoal with white top would be nice.

Re: Painting my car

I would not waste my money on plasti dipping your whole car. It's a wrap, how long do you think it will last? It has a limited life span. I would only use it on small applications like trim pieces.

Re: Painting my car

According to people that have done it, it can last up to a year or more if taken care of and there is a kit to patch up small scratches. They've also weighed it all after peeling it off the car and it only adds 6lbs at most i believe, and that was with two paint jobs = 6 coats.

Re: Painting my car

I have plasti dipped emblems and they have withstood winter, powerwashes and rock chips. It is pretty decent stuff.

Re: Painting my car

I just scored a like new hood for $30, painting the old one would have cost at least $100. Home brew paint job would look awful.
