Re: Just ordered my new AMR Engineering Coilovers

While I'm waiting for these struts to get here, can someone answer a question for me. I know that my rear strut mounts need to be replaced. Will I need to do that with these new coilovers or do these things come with everything needed to bolt them to the car?

I just don't want to get them and find out that I need something else before I can have them put on and I wasn't sure if these would use any stock parts for the install. Thanks

Re: Just ordered my new AMR Engineering Coilovers

Hi, new guy here. I suppose I'll throw my hat in the ring on this topic.

I just finished reading through this thread. It appears that several people put some effort into this but I must say I am astonished at the pricing on two levels:

1) That is a lot of custom machining and assembly for the price.

2) That owners will drop that much money on a custom fix when there is surely a less expensive solution.

Have other components been cross referenced or checked for compatibility?

Re: Just ordered my new AMR Engineering Coilovers

$1400 is a basic price for a set of average bolt in coilovers... You really can't get much cheaper for any coilover. The ones I want are $2600 and don't come with tophats, needless to say I'm going with my second choice setup which is $1500 with everything.

Re: Just ordered my new AMR Engineering Coilovers

Any updates on this? I've been looking into just buying some STI coilovers and modifying them, but if I can get customs for the same price....

We just got an update a few days ago that they should be here before Christmas *sigh* If we hear anything new, we'll be sure to let everyone know.

Re: Just ordered my new AMR Engineering Coilovers

Spoke with Andy today and he said all the parts for all of our orders are done and they are just waiting for assembly. There are some Honda orders that are ahead of us (they actually placed their order before we did and are also waiting) so he is going to do those first. Well, do them first right after he gets back to the shop. He's on vacation right now but will be back Jan 3rd and should be getting to ours the second week of January, so that's good.

He did make some extra parts for 1 (maybe 2) more sets of struts if anyone else wants one, but after those are gone any orders will have to wait for new parts to be manufactured. Just an FYI for anyone else that is looking for a set.

Re: Just ordered my new AMR Engineering Coilovers

I just spent all my strut money on new wheels.

Saving for the next batch I guess... Or else wait until we find out what SilverSpear comes up with on the rebuild of the stock struts.

I wonder why we haven't heard a word on the coilovers that members bought from Cedric.

I thought you had a specialty shop that could rebuild the internals of a stock OEM Strut very inexpensively. Modified OEM internals, starting with a mixture of ATF and engine oil, and pressure mechanism modification. There are some of us out there with bad struts, and don't need a full GC coil over kit.

Even with exorbitant shipping, the price is less than half.

What do you want to know?
Mine have been on for almost 6 months very happy with the final result, though the initial "growing" pains were interesting.

This pic is from shortly after I put the coil overs on, I have since raised it up some and adjusted the ride a little, I am not finished adjusting as of yet though.

Keep us posted Danny. We will wait for your reviews. We are always interested in the projects you get involved in

Just might be worth shipping old struts over to you and having them rebuilt. There is a vast amount of automotive engineering and craftsmanship that is evident in the cars that have been modified in the Middle East.
