whats this car worth?

Hi,
I just found a 92 pearlie. It has been sitting (covered) for 2 years.
130K
Rebuilt trans (15K ago) now the owner says its bad, but hasn't had it checked out.
Broken rear windsheild and front pass window
Dent in quarter (def fixable)
I have all the parts to fix this car, was hoping to get it for $300...
He's going to call me tomorrow with a price, as he had no idea what he thinks its worth.
Just wanted to know what others thought.
Also curious how hard it is to change the rear glass???
Thanks!

Re: whats this car worth?

Depends on interior cond., how the engine runs, other aspects as well. I'd say easily worth anywhere from $500-900.

Re: whats this car worth?

Last Saturday I paid $450 for a '92 Claret LS-L with a bad trans (or front diff) and 127k miles. Also had minor body damage, but all the glass was good. Engine sounds great. If you can get yours for $300 I'll be jealous!

It runs good. The interior is moldy, but should clean up. Some wear on drivers seat, no rips, and the rear seat is missing.
I was thinking 300 only because I purchased my 92 ebony lsl last may for 500.
It was stuck in 3rd gear. Fixed that by plugging the trans harness back in.
Driver window didnt work... bad motor.
Ran great with 150K miles on it.
It had nice wheels new rubber and drilled slotted rotors.
I drove it home for $500... was I just lucky or did these cars rise that much in value?

You can find deals, no doubt about it. If you can get it for $300, its a deal especially considering its worth that just in scrap value alone. Just don't be shocked if the guy wants more than that. With what you say on the condition, sound like about a $500 car on the top end just for the fact that it will take a fair amount of work to clean it up.

Ok. Thanks. I guess I have been under-estimating the value of these cars. What I am not under-estimating is the flack I'm going to take from my wife when I bring it home.

The value is just what a certain seller and a certain buyer are able to agree upon. It's as simple as that with this car. I paid $500 and $650 for cars with a bad trans and bad diff. One i fixed and sold off and the other I have driven quite a bit lately. Now, in about a month, I'm going down to Florida to get a running/driving car with some issues including a wheel bearing I need to take care of when I get there for $500. It all depends on many, many factors.

He started at $1000 when he called me a few minutes ago... we agreed on $500. If it wasn't for this thread, I would have passed on anything above $300. I really like the pearlie's and I can't wait to get this thing on the road.
