I like those too. In a few years when I need a new daily driver, that car will be on the short list to test drive. I wish they offered a AWD version though.

Congrats! Those are good-looking cars.

I have seen those boosted to 500ish hp....

Why made you choose Genesis Coupe?

Congrats man, I always liked the new coupe from Hyundai. Great looking car.

But in fairness to the SVX in terms of quality material used and accuracy in fabrication (yeah I have seen the glitches at Nissan especially Infinity), I can confidently say that the right replacement for our babies can only be the Nissan GT-R.

They are both made of high quality material, both AWD, both fully equipped compared to their generation... yeah I know, one is a beast, the other is a sports coupe... a luxury sports coupe.

The Genesis and Infinity are nowhere near the SVX...

I was going to buy the Hyundai but made the mistake of driving it first If I was going with anything else except the SVX, it would be Hyundai. Probably the new Luxury one that is just coming out.

SilverSpear expresses my sentiments... Genesis and Infinity do not in anyway compare to a SVX. I just bought another great low mileage SVX. Went with the pearl this time. (didn't have a white one yet)

Besides being super "cute", SVX is also the safest car money can buy!

The two new cars on my list would be the Gen Coupe 3.8, probably a Track model, but I wish there were some pick-and-choose between GT and Track.

The other would be the G35 or G37 coupe. I like the G35 body and engine, but the G37 interior.

G37 is somewhat SVX like, in that it does offer AWD, and when chosen, it is automatic only.

Maybe now that Mercury is dead, Lincoln will get some infusion from FoMoCo, and get a RWD luxury sport coupe. It may not be AWD, I think Lincoln could do better than the CTS Coupe, if they really did try.

It will be interesting to see if the CTS Coupe comes in CTS-4 guise... But it is behemoth for it's physical dimensions.

Re: I have a svx replacement

2011 Ford Mustang is now the car to beat in the class. The V6 has over 300hp with 30mpg highway and avalible "GT" suspension. The 5.0 however provides M3 performance for Ford money. Brembo brake package gives you 105ft 60-0 stops. And if you are a real nutter the GT500 sheds its huge power no grace past with no more power and yet 911 turbo destroying Road Course performance.

The Genesis coupe is awesome, just needing a better selection of engines to keep up with the Mustangs. Who would have thought though that the Mustang would have such a huge range of improvements across the whole line and engines being top of the list.

The Genesis has also a V6 with over 300hp. RWD, Brembos, etc... They are aiming for the 370z and G37 Nissans.

Do you still want a V8 in there?

If only Nissan could learn to spray every panel the same shade of colour and without orange peel. The paint finish on the GTR, and indeed all Nissans, is poor when compared with Subaru products.

So true Phil, I know that from the Altima I am driving right now. But the color shades on my Z are perfect, and here I am talking about the most conning color ever: Silver.

Reason?
The Altima is made in the US.
My Z is made in Japan.

For the Altima, I will only talk about the color for now...

Re: I have a svx replacement

I got the 3.8 auto with the 18inch wheels, already got the exhaust ordered, aem intake an a pulley. My main reason for getting a genesis is that it get stares like my svx do but bone stock this car ran 13.9@ 102 and with bolton parts it will be as fast as my svx was with my zex kits.Don't get it wrong the svx is a great car,I had mine since 96 and its a 94.Also svx parts are so hard to locate and you really get to a point that you can"t trust everyone thats selling parts here.It was just a car I had on a list of 12 that I got at the right time and price.

Do you still want a V8 in there?
There are rumors that GenCoupe Version 2 might be closer to the Merc E-Coupe. (especially if they continue with Sonata's styling...)

It might be going up in size, closer to the Genesis Sedan, and gaining the space for the 5.0 Liter, ~416hp version of the Tau V8 that the sedan is getting.

That would move it upward, to clear the new FWD "veloster" coupe, and possibly slightly smaller than Genesis Kia-versions of a RWD sport sedan and coupe, a bit down-market, and sportier than the Genesis entry-lux cars.

Frankly, if Lincoln doesn't start answering some of these challenges, they are going to be left behind. CTS coupe, sedan, and wagon; Hyundai Genesis sedan and coupe; Infiniti G, Audi A4/5 and S4/5, BMW 1 and 3 series...

The Ford V6, EcoBoost V6, and 5 liter V8 seem like really good engines... both manual and automatic gearboxes... But not everybody wants a Mustang body. I am not big into retro, and would like something sleek and new looking. That is one of the reasons I love the SVX so much... it is sleek, and still modern after nearly 20 years.
