Impression? just WOW, what a difference. I am having to relearn how to drive the car. With 138K miles on the original struts and springs, it now drives like a new car, except stiffer. And boy does it handle better! I am really pleased with the result. I'll have some video of my best run posted tomorrow - it's late and it's been a LONG day!!

Love'em OT!!!! I can't stop grinning!

Here is the link for my best run of the day. http://s222.photobucket.com/albums/d...t=MOV03108.flv

Pics of other cars there too. I still need to clean it up and get rid of dupes, but pics are there for now ...

Much faster through the slaloms and just rock steady ....
Great setup ..... I'm still grinning!

Pretty nice addition to the handling of an SVX, eh Harry?

Todd,
How the heck you been??!! Seems like forever since we saw each other at READING, what, three years ago? Hope all is well.....

And YES!! the transformation was unbelievable! The 1 1/2 hour drive home was a joy and a blast. I even played a bit with a Corvette in the mountains of WVA
And if you notice in the autocross video, there is no perceived lean in the corners and slaloms of the course from the driver's seat. Tom says from watching (sorry, no photos cause Becky was not there with her super camera) from the sidelines that it was really cornering flat! What a change! Before, with admittedly high mileage (138K miles) struts and springs, slaloms especially were a real handful - almost NO CONTROL whatever. Just wallowing through. Now turn the wheel, and it goes where one points it! Just love'em!!

Hi Harry,
Glad you enjoy the transformation. It is really quite remarkable. I used to swap them out every spring and fall and was amazed at the transformation every time.

Life is good and keeping me busy, especially with my new son due any minute now (actually overdue by a week today).
Yep, been three years since my last Reading meet and I doubt I'll find time or inclination to be back. Have great memories from the meets past but now that the car's interior is emptied out from the B pillar back and with the higer rate springs the "GT" nature of this particular exapmle is missing. It makes the idea of a 10 hour cruise seem a bit punishing. I may change my mind but it'll be a while unitl we get our second son settled in and life back on track. In the meantime the "race car" (Liam's words) sits rarely used<sigh>.

Re: Koni G/C Eibach Package

Congrats on the second son - they are great, aren't they! I have two sons - the youngest just turned 30! They are getting old, I'm not!! Loving our granddaughter (now two years old) these days... She's the apple of my eye. Go back to the photobucket link above for the autocross and look at the "other" albums - there are "a few" photos of Sarah there ......

I know you'll be busy, but try to touch base from time to time......
Hope all is well with mom and son!

Harry

I asked someone else for more info on this in another thread before stumbling across this one. Can you send me more info on this setup, either here or PM. I'm interested in GC alternatives and judging from the videos this seems like a great one, and less cost is a great icing.

Get in touch with SVXFILES (posted above) in Wiley Ford, WVA. He'll fix you up.

Just to add to my satisfaction, chack out this video of my car at Summit Point Raceway about a month ago. This is a downhill, off camber 95 degree turn. Note how flat the car is:

Here's some "on-track" footage. This is the Shenandoah Circuit at Summit Point - two miles with 17 turns. Fun track....

Re: Koni G/C Eibach Package

Tom,

I'm going to have to give you a call this weekend on this one. I might have found what I'll be saving my pennies for all winter...

Probably be around Friday, as that's the next day I'm not enslaved by the daily routine of work then classes...

Files can you get back to me on that PM? I see a local SVX for sale and considering all the recent work my car needs I just may grab it, but a sweet strut package may change that.

Re: Koni G/C Eibach Package

Guys.....one question. I live in Europe (the Netherlands) and just installed the Koni/GC set up. With the car on a ramp (wheels lose) the springs do not stay in their place. So I needed to buy an extra set of Helper springs and mounting hub to make them fit to the GC springs that we delivered.

When I look at the wheel travel with the GC set up this should be a problem for all Koni/GC users.....

Any comment is welcome

Yep. Full extension of the springs does not cover full extension of the suspension. I remember encountering this with my install on the Pearly.
