Friday: 60% chance of rain and the tempature dropped from 74 or something to around 63 degrees. Saturday: 30% chance of rain. Tempature aboue the same.

This is something I learned a long time ago from an Accuweather meteorologist: The doppler radar looks at a particular area of coverage, which could be quite large (300-500 miles across) when making its predictions. Based upon many factors, the precipitation probabilities are given. So when you have a prediction of 40% chance of showers, it means that 40% of the area that is covered in the radar sweep will get showers. The other 60% will be dry. Once it was raining at my house when the probability of precipitation was only 10%. I thought that a 10% probability meant that there was a 90% chance that it wouldn't. WRONG INTERPRETATION What it meant was 10% of the area coverd by doppler would get rain, the other 90% wouldn't. I just happened to be in that 10% that got 100% rain. Oh it's easier to understand when explained. Normally the weather man will say "30% chance of rain" so my mind processed it as there being a 30% chance of it raining out. They should word it better lol.
I do feel better knowing the odds now though.
