Well I actually don't agree with this comment.

The SVX is styled with a low hood/bonnet, wide and narrow headlights and a protruding bumper beyond this folding back under the car to give a chisel or bullet profile.

The three cars Brian suggested are similar in the general aesthetic treatment, and I can see exactly where he is coming from. Particularly the Integra, but a seriously bad picture Brian.

Boxer is saying the same as I've said for a long time. None of the vertical drop aftermarket bumpers or half bumpers suit the car, they end up looking like snow shovels or cow catchers. Unbalanced. Ugly.

Danny, you paying attention at the back?

With the proper execution the idea you are putting forward could do a nice refresh on the nose of the SVX. Go for it.

Joe

Re: Front Look Design Update

Joe & all
appreciate all the feedback and support. Did not notice the pix was out of proportion. Here I've attached a file containing all the inspiration ideas.

I will try to photshop them together but if there is any expert out there who would like to give a hand in doing so, please do.

hopefully, the ideas would blend in well. My goal is for it to look "stock" out of the factory..

keep your comments coming. thanks!

Re: Front Look Design Update

If you could do the cloud front bumper, with the side skirts and rear bumper posted above, I would buy it. As always, there have been countless threads such as this, so I am not holding my breath.

Re: Front Look Design Update

Back and sides and headlight treatment, thumbs up.

The cloud front bumper I'm not so fond of, though I'll grant it must cool things better for a boosted car, with plenty of air.

I would prefer a Legacy Blitzen# style bumper, it would be smoother and suave like the SVX design ethos, that big Cloud thing SCREAMS Boy Racer.

No Brian, I don't think there is a Blitzen spec in the current [not the very latest!] Legacy. I meant the 2000-2002 variant.

Here are some pics:

Having looked at them they will not suit the SVX. They have the benefit of being unfussy, the two lower apertures are purposeful but not gawping. However they are heavy at the corners and would need to be slimmed in for the SVX in that manner our current bumper is slimmed back and then reflared to the wheel.

The SVX is a little unusual in that it has a lot of nose forward of the wheels. If you fit a bumper skirt that drops vertically from this to the road, then because of the mass in front of the wheels it visually becomes a road sweeper or a snow shovel. The projectile look is lost. The Stevesby bumper is like the early cloud one, and I don't like it for the above reason.

I would be in favour of a new bumper that curves back from the front spar underneath, particularly at the corners, flares to the wheels and has a splitter style tray in black below that jutting forward. The splitter should not be so low as to make the car undriveable without breaking it on kerbs and speed bumps.

The number of tricked up and bespoilered Hondas we have crawling around here to avoid damaging the snout is at silly proportions.

Joe

Like this:

A lot like the SVX isn't it? They were both launched the same year. It's interesting that the early Cloud bumper looks a lot like this one.

Re: Front Look Design Update

Here's one that I don't mind. Well, I'd change a few things on it but the execution is nice. Definitely makes the car seem more, I dunno... "muscular?"

Taken from andy's autosport's website.

I love the sides and the widebody, but the front doesn't really flow with the rest. If the front had a Nismo r32 style front with the rest of this, maybe it'd look better? Who knows.

Re: Front Look Design Update

It looks like they took an aftermarket MKIV Supra bumper and bondo'd it on. Really well, but still..

Re: Front Look Design Update

Yeah, they did a great job for sure, but its just not quite my taste. Even if it were a different style of supra front, I think I would prefer it more than this.
