Bitterness

I would have come to reading if I had known the pace car was gonna be there. You guys should have said something, honestly, because I don't live in the area, so it's not like I just have to drive an hour or 10 to get there. Oh well, why encourage more people to come, instead let's just reward those who already are, right?

Re: Bitterness

Considering various planners in the past have worked their tail off trying to make the Pace Car appear with no success I can fully understand why it was kept under a need to know basis. I'm sure those who have a bitter taste in their mouth would have had an even more bitter taste if they thought the car was going to be there and then found out after coming that Subaru didn't come through again.

Remember though the best part about Reading has nothing to do with the pace car, nothing to do with the crappy parking lot of a Holiday Inn, and really nothing to do with the SVX. It is all about the people who come!!!

This is right, we didn't know for sure until it got here. We tried to tell members that you needed to be here. We can only go so far with activities and tours. They are all planned and much trouble has been gone through to plan a big meet like this.

Nate-

Earl, John, and many others continually stressed that this Reading was NOT to be missed. The Reading to top all Readings. It would be impossible to commit to the Pace Car being at Reading.

Benebob and I have planed Reading meets in the past, and even when I had ties with SOA, it was an absolute impossibility to get the Pace Car to make an appearance. John, Di, and Earl (among others) worked their butts off to make this happen. Don't sour the event, PLEASE.

Mike

Re: Bitterness

I'm definately not trying to sour anything. This being the weekend of my 20th wedding anniversary, I wasn't going to Reading under ANY circumstances. Well I could have, but my chances of surviving to see my 21st anniversary would have been SLIM at best!

I'm ecstatic that the attendees are having such fun. I'll just have to live vicariuosly through all your pics!!

"...Honey? ...where are you going?"

Actually I'm sure we could have accommodated you.

Re: Bitterness

I've known since the fall that I wouldn't be to Reading X. That in itself was a bummer enough. Being there would be amazing, and seeing the Pace Car and Legacy would only be icing on the cake. They're bonus features, not the main event.

Re: Bitterness

Reading was fun. Infact it has been fun in pooring rain with 40mph winds. Just because the pace was there should not have made it any more alluring to show... You just need better motivation Maybe get a couple people around your area next year to pitch in and rent a Winnebago!!!!
