Climate Control Button Problem

Did a bit of searching, no answers.

My climate control temperature only responds to 'Up' commands, which isn't so great in the summer.

Pressing up makes the temperature go up, pressing down does nothing.

Dirty contact in the switch? I dont want to have to pull the dash apart already

If I disconnect my battery neg cable for a bit and reconnect it my climate control starts over on 65 degrees.
Don't know about yours, but if it does, you could set it on 70 or so and leave it there when needed till you work it out?

Just a thought,
Keith

Re: Climate Control Button Problem

I don't think I have any circuitry information for the climate control

I would imagine that there is a switch of some sort right behind the temp control, but we never know.
I can look farther into it tomorrow.
Hope some of this helps,
Keith

Re: Climate Control Button Problem

There is a self-diagnosis function built in to the climate control unit, but it does sound to me like you have a dirty switch...

Curious, how do you engage the self-diagnosis?

Re: Climate Control Button Problem

press and hold "off" and "auto" and turn the ignition switch to ON

Details are in the PDFs, one of them outlines the self diagnosis function, the other one (the larger of the two) details the operation of the automatic climate control system.
