you see, though, my idea of a bad neighborhood is any place with less than 2 Starbucks per block... A few areas of Cranberry fit into that.

Re: Re: Re: Re: door lock switch

If I could make mine unlock automatically when I pulled the inside handle, I'd turn on the autolock feature of my alarm. I like the split rear seats on the newer modles, but not the manual belts or passenger side airbag. I rarely have a passenger and have other plans for that area of the dash.

lets see, I've got one in the union (2 buildings down(2 min walk)), one across grand river (2 min walk), and one a little ways down the road (15min walk both ways) what has the world come to?

Oh, and we get it delivered to our office every morning

Just no frozen mocha delivery

we've got it here too, only they are going nutty about it! Even got the little cheezy comercials about it. It's pretty damn anoying. I dont see the point of it really, it's your car, your property, your not hurting anyone by not wearing it, other than yourself if you get into an accident. It's not like your asking for death if you dont wear it. I know it's always been a law that you have to wear it, but it's never been something a cop can pull you over for. Personally I think it's just another venture to make more $. I've noticed a lot of road work being done, they've got to pay for it some how.

Thank you Dr Kuoh, you have just given me a great idea. When I pull the driver's door latch, the central locking disarms. It will lock again when the car exceeds 15kph. The passenger side does not achieve this central unlocking effect. All I need to do is get the switch from Japan that does the opening/unlocking on the driver's side. When I put this on the passenger door also, Hey! Presto!! everyone is happy

Let you know what I can find.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: door lock switch

Hmm...I hadn't thought about that. Any microswitch from good old Radio Shack interfaced to the unlock wire should do the trick. It's just a matter of the placement of the switch and timing. I'd only need it on the driver side, as I rarely have a passenger and if I did, I'm not sure that I'd want her to be able to get out so easily.

A switch in time

I already have it on my driver's side. Trouble is, to activate it, it also mechanically opens the door. So, in letting the passengers off, I have opened mine also, and have to reshut it, a total pain, esp in the rain.

I have heard other people with JDM cars can lift the latch so far, and it opens the central locking, but not the driver's door. This would be an OK solution too, but unfortunately does not work on mine. Both doors open at the same time. Maybe that switch could be readjusted to disarm the locking before the driver's door is physically opened.

Question Curiosity killed the cow err I mean cat

Quote:
They saved me during a couple of bad accidents. One in which I had bruises on my pelvis bones afterwards. They were the "two part" belts in my 72 Gran Torino Sport. I was too lazy to put the shoulder strap on, or, I wouldn't have needed the seven stitches in my nose. Of course, the Cows I hit fared much worse.
Is that the accident you talked about a long time in Yahoo land? I vaguely remember you saying something about flying thru the air across a road or something like that. Am I on the right track here?

B.C.

Yep. That's the one. I'm sure, if you do a search on "cows" in the "archive," my long and detailed story will pop up.
