Admirable to continue on with it, hopefully it doesn't end up biting you.

Got The Svx Running After Sitting For Two Years, Now What?

Got the cam sensor I ordered from Dans_Carpars (HE CAME THROUGH WITH NEXT DAY DELIVERY) and installed it and finally started up the SVX after over TWO YEARS!!!!

Is there anything I should do before I put it in gear and attempt to move it after its been sitting for so long?????

Now that its started, I will not engage the transmission till I get some answers from yall, anyone reading this, feel free to give your thoughts.

I want to be extra carefull cause I know its tempermental like that.

Rick

Good to hear of the resurrection!

I'd make sure there is pressure in the braking system before putting it into gear, and/or have the emergency brake ready (or plenty of room )

If you have AT fluid on the front of your engine, it is most likely from the PS pump as someone else mentioned
Look here for the fix:

Myself, I'd let it idle a good 15-20 mins, then look for any serious leaking before taking it anywhere.

Also, I'd check the level and replace the coolant soon. Same for the brake fluid, front and rear diff. oil too.

Then..enjoy your test drive

Ok, brake presure, rear, front dif, trans fluid, oil top off, replace cheapie sparks, let idle for 15 to make sure no other oil, replace ps pump.

Ill have plenty of time to gather a list fron yall to ensure every precaution is taken cause im here in Georgia for another week and a half.

More ideas are welcome and will be noted.

Many thanks to all,
Rick

Rick,
Just so I've got it right, you ended up replacing both the cam sensor (driver's side) and one of the crank sensors (behind the alternator)?
