Tell me about it... I fill up the 350Z's tank here in Qatar for $10.
I am super happy with fuel consumption, almost negligeable!

I also know that some will start teasing me about the "unbelieveable" gas prices ... for those who have been to Qatar or the Middle East, care to back up?

But car prices are 20% more than those in the US.

i don't think they'll be converting.
I stand corrected, it'll be the entry level supercar buyers who will convert. (Z06, Uber Beemers, AMG's...)

I was thinking Canadian prices when I said that, G35's here hit in the $50K+ ballpark. Which means the GTR will be like $90,000

I was in Saudi Arabia for Desert Storm in '91. We filled up a 4 truck convoy for less than $50 worth of diesel. It's cheaper to get it straight from the source.
BTW If you've never seen a Saudi city, they are astoundingly clean! I never saw a "bad" part of town, I don't think there IS one. Even thier public housing is beautiful. Unfortunately they are some of THE WORST drivers! *laughs*

Saudi Arabia is very beautiful, but for women to be able to move around, they should be veiled all the times, even expatriates (backward people )
UAE is a dream in itself. Crazy projects all around. Qatar is still half a desert, a lot of opportunities tho..

Concerning the Saudi driving techniques, they are the stupidist drivers on earth. A lot of people got killed through that (WARNING, never try this except if you are an idiot!):

You guys all seem to be confused. The car it the first post there isn't a R. It's a slightly modified 350Z.

Yeah that's a common mistake, no worries.

sigh, and I thought I drove bad. I have seen some videos and man they are horrible drivers. No offense to you Silver but if someone drove like that over here 1) they would probably get shot 2) They wouldn't have a car or a license for that matter long.

Yesterday I went at the Nissan Dealership over here (they opened up a new one), and met the showroom manager who turned out to be a distant friend (friend of a friend of a friend , well he is Lebanese and Leb is small)
We discussed the issue of the GT-R over here... it seems they might be expecting it before the US market, meaning in mid 2008 onwards.

But he mentioned something about this car, that shocked me... I dunno if such a problem ever existed in history, at least in the last 7 decades... but this car might NOT have room to a spare tyre . Nissan is still working on it.

The Qatari market will see only 10 GT-R's per year

The top end Cooper Mini's with 17" wheels don't have spares, they are required to use run-flat tires. Many new Beemers do the same thing. (I work in a tire shop and just had to put run-flat snows on a friends '07 3-series) I hate run-flats.

I guess the GT-R will be the same, no spare and run flats. Saves on weight too, there isn't a requirement for a jack or any of the other tire-changing gear.

Can you shed some light on that new concept? It may be useful also to our community

Do they use some sort of foam inside tyres? or is it a special type or something?

I suspect he just forgot to put in the sarcastic smilies.

The overal shape of the GT-R is a bit like the Z, especially at the front. However you are talking about comparing a rear drive chassis to the most advanced AWD chassis in the WORLD.

Any similarity in body shape is purely filial and coincidental.

Joe

Actually the facts spoke for themselves even though that was probably not recognized by one or two--well maybe one.
