Honestly I fell in love at first sight, I told AJ4U2 the second I looked at it, that I was going to buy it >.> I love the look of it and well I never know about this car. I gotta say of all the cars I was looking at buying this beats all of them hands down. I love the Defog on these cars, the windows and all and the style of it more. I love it and would buy it over and over again.

I owned a Plymoth Laser and had to do a recall on it and the Plymoth dealer was also a Subaru dealer and saw one in the shop on that day in 1992. Loved the styling.

In 2003 my '90 Legacy was getting tired as it approached 200,000 miles so I started looking for another good, used Subaru. Test-drove a local, late 90s Impreza with +/-100K, priced at $7500, and was decidedly unimpressed; the wheezing Legacy was superior in every respect. So I started noodling around online and re-discovered the SVX, a car I'd totally forgotten about in the 10+ years since my ex and I briefly considered buying one when they hit the market. (Understandable that I'd forgotten, having seen only one in all that time.) Anyway, I was smitten by the on-line ads, and had to have one. It appeared I could get a decent example for half what I'd figured on spending; so much the better.
Seems the thought, I love this car, flutters through my mind at least once every time I'm behind the wheel. Whenever I have to shell-out for a pricey part or repairs, I figure that means I must drive 'em more to get my money's worth. dcb |

With nearly a quarter million miles on the clock, my SVX is STILL one of the best riding, and handling cars I've ever owned. I voted the rarity in the poll, that's why I bought it. I'll keep it for the sheer joy of driving it. I've owned some REAL fire breathers in my day, various V8 Mustangs & such. Those cars handled well, but beat you to death doing it! (Kidney belt anyone?) The SVX will absolutely put those cars to shame on a back road, and niether you, nor the car, ever break a sweat.
Long live the SVX!!!

For me as a young man, a teacher at my school who owned a green one with light tan leather interior, going outside to admire it and wondering what the hell it was... then coming up with all the dreams in my head for when I got my license...

I sold them when they were first new (and the other models too!). I've had subaru cars since then (one year hiatus 2005-2006). I always liked the svx but they were never that practical at the time (family and needing room).
Now I am evaluating two that my father-in-law picked up from the auto auction. I need a daily driver that gets better gas milage than my suburban (fun to scare commuters with THAT honking big vehicle) and also has awd (icy hills of Kansas and Missouri). AND............THEY ARE COOL!! First thing my son said was "Dad we have GOT to paint some flames on!!" Eric

I was actually looking to get a LGT and sell my truck and GL wagon when I stumbled upon the SVX. I had never seen one before so I started reading about it. I was sold on the flat 6, quad cams, 4 valve 10:1 compression, split intake, AWD, and low drag aspects before ever seeing one in person. I actually bought mine before ever seeing it in person, or any other SVX in person for that matter. With the car being such a good deal I got to keep my truck and just gave the GL away.
I voted for cool spaceship styling.

Its pretty much all the above. I've always been entrigued by them, but have never had a chance to look at one up close and personal. That is until a few months ago. The rest is history

That could be. After riding in FW, I was profoundly impressed with the EG33.
Of course, being mated to the XT6 platform was a wake up call!
