messed up lug nut and stud on rear wheel

Does anyone know if the lugs can be knocked out and new ones put in the rear wheel on my svx without pressing out the wheel bearing please?
Thanks,
Keith

One of the members I know had one break. They just pulled the wheel and then put the stud in it. They did not have to pull the bearings.

I just replaced 2 on a rear wheel on Thursday. It can be done w/o removing the hub from the axle, but it might not really be easier. I removed the caliper and disc then the parking brake shoes to create enough clearance to move the ABS tone ring back away from the stud. I understand the tone rings are fragile, but I haven't broken one, yet. The studs can then be pounded out. I found the greatest clearance was with the stud about 2 o'clock. Pull the new stud through using a spacer about 3/8" between the hub and lug nut.

Good luck.

Studs are one of the SVX parts you can find at any dealer. Inexpensive too. The tire store over tightened mine and two broke getting the wheel off. Replaced them the without removing the hub.Gene
