Remote starter, need help

I know people have installed these, i did a search and zero for how to install one or what wires need to be hooked up to for the power locks ect. I think there is a starter lockout that needs to be bypassed also. Any help would be great. Or if you know of a link that has the info. Thanks.

Is a Bulldog system.

I was a technician for Bulldog for 2 years, So I'm sure I can help. What model is the bulldog and what year is the SVX to start with?

I think you either mean model RS 112 or RS 1100. Go to www.bulldogsecurity.com and get the wiring diagram for your year SVX there, Then simply follow the directions in the book that came with the remote starter and using the vehicle diagram hook up the wires one by one per the directions. Don't forget to always test the wires even if they are the color your looking for to make sure they function when and as they should. Also, Read over the directions 2 or 3 times and make sure you understand it as well as possible before beginning. If you have any problems with it or don't understand something feel free to ask as I had input on design of the systems and the direction manuals. Good luck with it and feel free to ask if you need anything.

Alarm is a ALERT RS 110, same as a Bulldog RS 1100, checked both sites they are near mirrors of each other. Same address and 800 numbers, same wiring diagrams.

Heres where Im at. I hooked everything up i could as per instructions, nothing works, no locks, no starter.

Things i could not hook up.

On the web sight it says door trigger is red/white, in the manual there is no mention of a door trigger in the pin lay out. Horn green/black, no mention of horn in the pin lay out. So those two I have no idea what to do with.

Site says nothing about a security system on the SVX but i know its there.

Ah yes, the whole alert thing they started. You won't need the door trigger(unless you are hooking up dome light supervision) or horn wire with that model unit, so just tape off those wires and don't worry about them. 1. Do you have both Red wires and the red/blk wire with the fuses in line to 12V constant power?? 2. Is the black wire to a good ground? 3.Where did you hook up the power wires? 4. Where did you hook up the door lock wires and what type of doorlocks did you hook up for? 5. Does the car do anything at all when you hit the start button? 6. Tell me what wires you have not hooked up at this time.

Number 1: Unhook the Violet wire(domelight). It must be used with a relay to make it work properly

Number 2: Did you check the voltage on the brake wire before connecting to make sure it only shows power with the brake depressed?

Number 3: try disconnecting the hood pin wire. It may not be adjusted properly or touching ground

number 4:Try finding the parking light wire on the back of the parking light/heated mirror switch.

number 5: Check the fuses in the red wires and test between the red wires and the ground wire with a meter and make sure there is 12V between them.
number 6: If that checks out then go to page 10 I believe in the directions and do the clearing the units memory procedure. Let me know what happens, Your doing a good job so far.

Ok, Im at my wits end now. I have gone thruogh and tested everything twice using the light meter. The remote package still does zip. I tried to do the zeroing the eprom to reset the remote and i cant even get the parking lights to flash. I even tried hooking up a test light to the brown wire (parking lights) and that result is really weird, it is constantly blinking 2-3 times a second. Any ideas? Is the box fried? Am I missing something blatantly obvious? Any help would be great.

Try this:

if you have a 4 BUTTON REMOTE CONTROL:

You will need to take the unit out of safety mode, to do this you will
need to ground the hood pin switch wire, then put your foot on the brake,
next hit any button on the remote and the clicking will stop. Then you will
need to take the hood pin switch wire off of ground and take your foot off
of the brake and see if the remote will work with the unit

if you have a 2 BUTTON REMOTE CONTROL:

You will need to take the unit out of safety mode, to do this you will
need to put your foot on the brake, next hit any button on the remote and
the clicking will stop. Then you will need to take your foot off of the
brake and see if the remote will work with the unit

Great news, one hitch, got the remote working now, starts and works the locks. Thanks for the fix. Problem remaining is the parking lights still wont work. I have tested the lights coming off of the park switch and tried connecting to the ones that go hot when the switch is on, still no lights, will continue to toy with it, any ideas as to what else I might try?

Test the output on the brown wire while the car is remote started(the lights kick on 10 seconds after it starts). Does it show 12V+?

I can swap it to = or - using the dip switch, the book says lights will flash as soon as the signal is received, or when you operate the door locks. Thinking of putting the horn circuit on the locks so i have an audible.
