Trany Mount???
My 94 seems to have clunk/squeak sound coming from center of the car. Could this be the trany mount? If so, how can I replace it? Did the exhaust needs to come off?
Thanks

i had the same situation with my impreza..the only problem is that the stock tranny mount wasn't stiff enough to support the tranny and engine when shifting gears.. |

tranny mount-recent experience
I just did the tranny mount on my '95 LSi without removing the exhaust. I did remove the bolts from the exhaust hangers in the area of the mount so I could move the exhaust downward a little. I didn't remove the tranny crossmember either, just the six bolts that hold it to the car and the three nuts that hold the tranny mount to the x-member. I slid the x-member toward the back of the car until the tranny mount could be removed. It's a tight fit, but it worked. If your tranny mount's broken, it will likely come out in two pieces. You will also be able to tell if your tranny mount's broken without removing anything, by raising the car and pushing up on the tail of the transmission. If it moves up freely without much effort, it's your tranny mount.
