Hankook W404

I have Hankook W404 Winter radials and I am very happy with them. They are also studdable if you require extra traction. Even without the studs, they turn the SVX into a TANK. I drive in Michigan winters, they have helped me get through 14" of snow without a problem. This was on the road. In Flint, MI they do not plow.

I have them in 205/55-16 for stock wheels. A bit of a squeeze in this size, but the narrower tire is better for snow. They decrease performance immensely due to the huge tread blocks and soft sidewall. Are a bit noisy too. Just keep in mind, they are snow tires! Looks like you can get them for about $85 a piece now.

Can't say I've been to Duluth in the winter but I've had experience with 2 of the least expensive winter tires and they are still far superior to ANY all season tire. Personally I'd spend more on summer tires than winter tires.

If you can find a deal on this tire, you will be very happy with the performance.
Special compound & knerfed tread make this tire a true ice/snow winner!!
