Go to the Mod Mania section and scroll down to "STI air filter". Someone just posted a walk through of a fuel filter replacement in that thread.
The fuel filter is a shiny metal container located on the drivers side of the engine bay. Dave |

Have you been able to successfully replace your fuel filter yet? I replaced mine last week and it was very straight forward and required the following simple hand tools: -philips head screwdriver -pliers (non wire cutting kind) The best pic I have showing the location of the fuel filter is this one I took the day I got my car: In the upper right hand corner just behind the fuse box cover, you'll see the 'COOLANT' fill box, and the fuel filter kinda nestled right beside it. There are four rubber lines that go to the fuel filter - two are actually connected to it, while the other two are clamped down above it. Let me know if you have any other questions. Like red95svx mentioned, I have instructions in my STI Panel Filter thread in the Mod Section. -Chike

Easier than I thought it would be
I changed my fuel filter for the first time today. Let the car sit overnight, unplugged the fuel pump connection under back seat, unscrewed gas cap and took off hoses from old to new. Very little gas came out. Just what was in the hose a few inches. I used the Purolator filter. The car seems more responsive but the weather was the coolest of the year today so I can't be sure. Thanks for all the helpful knowledge.
Mike
