I haven't noticed any downtime recently.

Must've been on your end...

Only down time recently was on the 28th from 22:10 MST to 23:05. This was was due to an equipment failure on QWESTs end for the the T1s in the area. Cant complain too much, they had us back online within an hour. I am sure the REAL reason for the quickness is because the fact that ALL the T1s in the Boise area were down and thats a lot of buisinees calling with choice words.

Short version:
Actually this was a scheduled repair for
an issue going back to mid April. I was
just too sick to even post any warning
about the upcoming downtime.

Long version:
A line card in an ancient MUX was generating
a lot of errors, which was screwing up data
and generally slowing down everyone
on that line card. Now normally this is not
a problem since you can just fail over to the
protect circuits; however, the protect circuits
line card was also bad. Qwest went through
about 6 spare line cards before they found one
that worked. This got us (and everyone else
affected) back into normal operation, but without
any failover The ironic thing is that that ancient
MUX was already scheduled for the dumpster
and was going to be completely replaced because
replacement parts are no longer available and
hard to find on the used market. The outage that
this thread refers to was due to the old MUX
being dropped into the dumpster and being
replaced.
