Talking Kevins of the world unite...

So I wasn't too far off the mark with the whole Fast and Furious thing then.

We have a sadly similar situation here in the U.K.

There are tragic occurences of cars being modified beyond all reasonable taste, through an awful publication called "Max Power"

The generic term we use is "Kevv'ed up"... One of the worst offenders in the modded car scene is the Citroën Saxo, which if you are 19 and have no cash, is a reasonable car. However people do this - oh dear me.

The worst crime in my opinion (other than Lexus style light clusters), is when somebody sticks (and I mean uses glue ) a fake Impreza intercooler vent onto their bonnet. I mean come on... thats just daft.

What I've never understood is that, by the time they've finished nailing bits of plastic to their cars to make them go faster, they've spent the same as buying something reasonably quick in the first place

I once heard a car like this described as having "all the usual Council Estate Modifications!". (For US readers: Think "Trailer-Park").

Barry ??

Another UK term, maybe east of england origin (think Essex/Cambridgeshire) is "barry boy".

Here's a link to try if you are still confused : http://www.boyracerguide.co.uk/guide.php

a side remark about "altezza's"...

i agree wholeheartedly with subafreak when he says that the only car they belong on is the toyota altezza (aka lexus is300).. what strikes me as interesting is that a couple of non-toyota manufacturers have picked them up in their regular USDM lineup.. the new nissan altima has 'em.. i believe the latest crappy iteration of the mitsu has a sort of "carbon-fiber-look" altezza as stock taillights.. it's kind of weird, and i really don't like it one bit. the worst is trucks sporting altezza's... just sad.

-adam

actually, no, that's not the worst.. i saw a GENUINE e36 bmw m3 (fantastic car, wonderfully balanced, razor sharp in nearly all aspects) with altezza's!! honestly!! nothing says "I don't give a f***" like $75 taillights on a $40,000 car...
