Crap!!!

my stereo turned off. i was just listening to it on my way home and poof it all turned off. im sure its a fuse, which do we think it is?

I hope it's a fuse too. But what made the fuse blow? There is a short somewhere?

haha, my fuse fell out.... kinda funny if you ask me. it dont fit exactly right cuz i have my remote wire hooked to it, so this will probnably happen again. remind me next time i post about it.

Don't run the wire in there. Move it and splice it somewhere else.

Do you need the 12V for constant on or only when the ign is on?


This is my field in the SVX. Electrical and wiring more items into the car.

well i thought having my remote wire hooked to my cd player fuse would be fine. it works so what is wrong with it? my stuff turns off when my H.U is off

Where in the fuse do you have it wired to since your fuse popped out?

You want to splice it to the wire that does it rather than just pushing it in with the fuse. It's safer that way too.

I also agree. Bypassing fuses is a bad idea. Just ask my dealer.

Sure, it works fine, man. But if your system develops a short along that circuit then you're going to fry expensive components instead of just blowing a fuse.

Wow that's an easy fix

I have also stuffed a wire into the fuse clamp as you have done
BUT
As pointed out above, it is not a good idea. It can lead to a short and it's not the best connection.
A splice on the correct side of the fuse is the way to go.
