Sergi,
I'm pretty sure that both my factory manual and the glove-box manual say the same thing for front and rear lug nut torque. On the other hand, being in New Zealand, your car may have equipment (four-wheel steering, for example) which alters the required torque for the rear wheels. I'm pretty sure I torque all my wheels to 80ft-lbs.

Identical front and rear axle nut torque
Quote:
123-152 ft-lbs for front axle (Section 4-2 page 9) 123-152 ft-lbs for rear axle (Section 4-2 page 27) The lower number is for used nuts, the higher for new nuts (according to the venerable master mechanic Beav). Hope this helps, wolf33h |

so if i think my bearings go bad and i wanna retight the nuts to make em last longer i should do around 130 ft/lbs then? |

IMHO, problems with bad bearings cannot be fixed by applying correct torques to axle nuts. If bearing races and/or tapered rollers have been damaged say by lack of lubrication or dirt and moisture intakes from bad seals, they have to be replaced.

just it seems to be loose, like if i take brake disk and try to move it left/right, up/down i hear click and its few mills loose
my dad said if its like usual cars bearings then they wear out and axle nuts has to be retighten... i dont hear anything when i drive so i guess they just wear out abit... but i mite be wrong... anyways ill retight them need to change cvs anyway ... |

Joint(s) or bearing?
Just make sure that when you move the "brake disk", you are not moving the axle with ball joints at both ends. If the brake disk moves relative to the knuckle (bearing housing), then it is likely to be a bearing problem. If you hear no bearing noise when driving, why would you assume bad bearing(s)? The click you heard may have come from the ball joints.

yeah man i thought about ball joints, but same effect when i move righ/left and up/down but ball joints would give looseness only in left/right (??)
so thats why i though bout bearings but again no noise when i drive.. only normal tyres noise i think bearing only started to go bad... but still need to fix it for the wof... thx for replies and any ideas if its hard to replace bearings (i know its hard as to find em here) just gotta pray its not bearings |
