O/T Saabs

So my boss gave me a project to do.....Get information about Saabs. We don't ever buy them but we want to start. Can anyone give me some info on what to stay away from any quirks they have. 2000 and newer.
I know absolutely nothing about them and I thought I would start here.

Saabs are tough. I wouldn't recommend it if ya wanna stay in business. Sure 90% are decent but its that other 10% that'll kill your bottom line. Watch out for bad electronics/ control systems on the later 9-3s, frame damage on a conv. is a very bad thing as they all tend to have cowl shake worse than your average body-on-frame 60s conv. normally.

The only reason we are thinking about selling them is because we can get them fixed properly. It's really hard to find a good dealership to fix your cars. We have P&W fix all of our BMW's and they are just wonderful to deal with. They also have a Saab store so we figured maybe we should start to buy them since they can do the work on them.

Amanda, who writes the descriptions for your auctions? They're so good! I love the use of enthusiasm to create urgency in the auction.

Steve writes the auctions and I do the pictures. Did you see the 1994 Jaguar xjs coupe we had up? I fell in love with that car. Which is wierd because I'm not a huge fan of Jaguars. but that one was wonderful to drive!!!

Yeah, I did see that! I check your auctions regularly. Do you think that the fact that it was bought back will have a great affect on the cars retail value?

I was talking about the black one.
The one you're talking about is a 99 xk8. That one is wonderful too. I think I have a thing for coupes. Who would of guessed?
I don't think it will hurt it too much. We already had the Jag dealer check it out and when they bought it back they fixed the stuff that was wrong with it.

I don't know if you are still able to see the pictures or not. The hosting service we use usually takes the picures down after the auction ends.

Wow, amanda. That is a beautiful car! How do they handle?

The SID's (electronic displays for computer and A/C) and the smoking on startup (turbo or PCV related) are the two major problems on Saab.

Well, at least for the 9-5's anyways, as that's what I had researched into before buying one two weeks ago.

I don't think the 9-3's have the SID's, but I could be wrong. The Turbo/PCV issues would be throughout the lineup.

It's not a car I would want to drive everyday. Most Jaguars have that super smooth feel to them but these feel more like a sports car. It would definitely be a fun toy!!!! It handles great, the steering was nice and tight. My only complant is feeling a little cramped while driving it.
