Question What's the deal with the gas indicator?

I just noticed this today, when i filled up from E it only took 11 gallons, isn't the gas tank suppose to be 18.5 ? question 2: Is it my car or all your guys indicators lie? and Question 3:How much can the idicator go beyond E (untill you stall)?...

Thanks a lot people...waiting for replies

1: Yes your SVX is normal
2: ALL SVXes were done that way. But few have corrected indicators. How do you correct them? Pull them out when the gas light come on and push it back in E and fill her up. If it goes up beyond F, you are set
3: How much does it go beyond E? At 20mpg, safely, you have a good 5 gallons left so another 100 miles easy. It will hit way below E.

Our gas guages have long been known as "pessemistic." The major reason for the inconsistancy is the fact that the SVX uses a "saddle" tank. A venturi transfers gasoline from the passenger's side to the driver's side of the tank, and therefore, becomes a little whack. I've posted a diagram of the tank before, but can't seem to find it. I'll try to repost it tonight, just for sh!ts and giggles (It's on my home computer, and I'm at work )
