engine misfiring

my svx has been running fine until today when it started misfiring while i was driving on interstate at 65mph. when I came to a stop it sounded like it was idling on 5 cylinders and the car was shaking,...the outside temp was around 20 degrees. I did however buy gas at a different station lately but the tank is now 1/2 full. I've never had any previous engine related problems. does anyone know if the problem is more likely to be fuel related or ignition related. any suggestions would be appreciated.

A) Did you buy a lower octane fuel than usual, or, did the fuel contain ethenol?

B) Symptoms may indicate a coil that's gone bad

C) MAF sensor could be at fault.

D) Too many other things to mention. Check these out, for starters.

Also, I recall one person with a strange problem: His car would start and run fine, then, after it reached op temp, it would die. Drove him nuts for a while, until he discovered a crack in the "accordian" plastic in his intake tube. Seems that, while the engine was cold, the plastic would contract and close the crack. Once the engine got up to temp, the heat would expand the plastic and open it, causing the stall.

Just a few things to think about. Obviously, a fouled plug could also be a culprit (just thinking out loud).
