Rear axle question

Was trying to loosen cover plate on inner end of rr axle as it goes into the diff, held with 5 12mm bolts. With bolts off and a goodly bit of prying, it didn't budge. Is this a matter of needing to "persuade" it a bit more vigorously or am I missing something?

THX

Re: Rear axle question

After you remove the 5 EIGHT MM bolts with the TWELVE MM heads, gently try to rotate the side plate using a square drift, if you have one and a small hammer.
Once you start to twist it/rotate it it should be able to be twisted off.

Re: Rear axle question

Sure.
BTW,
"Torque the side plates to 6.5-8.7 ft/lb."
