1995 legacy LSi 4EAT Swap Questions

So the SVX I bought has a failing tranny (of course)
and I bought car because I already have a 1995 Legacy LSi (test bed for the Outback) with a blown motor.
I will just assume it is a 4.11 but that really doesn't matter (?)
So besides that tranny and rear diff will I need to swap anything else?
And I assume I need to swap rear diff? (see below)

Was wondering also how the STi 6 speed can have different front and rear final drive ratios (3.9 and 3.5) yet we have to swap the rear diff when doing the above and not keep the stock 3.5 ?

That only applies to the newer STi trannies. I remember reading that there is a reduction gear involved to reduce the rotational speed of the driveshaft.
