Bonus points to anyone who can name the random trim piece on the floor by the gas pedal.
Its the piece that goes under the parking brake.

Ding ding ding! Winner. (That went faster than I thought at first).

That makes me wonder if they actually wired the DVD player to the parking brake switch, rather than rigging up a bypass like everyone else does.

Some, like mine, can't be programmed. The GPS equipped units by Pioneer need a program to override it, but I just have small switch hidden from sight that grounds it. It can't be grounded constantly, it needs to be switched after the unit receives power, so I just keep it grounded and then flip it off/on when I need to get into the menus or watch something.

Back to making fun of this pile of fail. Is that tape on the radiator's top hose?

Re: neone have a idea what rims these r??

http://www.autotrader.com/ Original Ad listing for the subject car

The car looks like it is salvageable. If it is an original Texas car, it might even be pretty well rust free. (car is at MGM Auto in San Antonio TX, per the ad...)

The body looks straight, and the interior looks clean.

A new set of lights and grille
A tint job to finish the rest of the side and rear glass.
Some adhesive remover to take of those stick-on gills.

A bit of attention to put the stereo door back on, and re-run the power lead, once the stereo installation is checked to be sound, and not too badly hacked. And put the trim panel back under the hand brake lever.

As long as the engine and drivetrain are runners, the car looks recoverable.

the wheels look pretty good on the car... hopefully the tires are decent.

The rear spoiler is perhaps a bigger issue, unless you are familiar with bodywork. The mounting holes are very likely not in the same place as the stock SVX spoiler, so to either remove it entirely, or to install an SVX OE spoiler, it is likely going to take filling and re-painting the top of the trunk lid, and either leaving it clean, or drilling for the proper spoiler.

I'd be primarily concerned about the integrity of the bodywork, lack of rust or previous damage, and the running condition of the engine and drivetrain. The rest is just surface stuff.

4530$ for 137+ miles, and having to set the appearance right, though... I'd haggle significantly, then make a shopping list for the people around here who are dismantling dead SVXs, or pulling parts from various salvage yards around the country.

I wish my car's interior and paint were in that sort of shape, but I don't have that sort of money.

And for just a little bit more, there are some SVXs for sale on this board that are nicer, and more than one that are manual-gearbox converted.

Re: neone have a idea what rims these r??

edit....

Additionally, note the incorrect radiator installed and universal hoses used instead of OE style.

Couple the hack jobs with internet speak, and you have threadfail.
