EGR Temp Snesor
I have had several issues with my car and recieved a suggestion to replace the EGR temp sensor. I bought a new sensor but am unable to find where it goes, If someone could please post pics of where the darn thing goes, I would really appreciate it.
and yes, I have searched for it for quite a while

Is is possible that you actually have an ECU (not EGR) temp sensor?
If all else fails, the shop where you bought the part should be able to point you in the right direction. dcb |

I got the part online, it is the sensor that connects up to the ECU, and i was told by the subaru shop in town that it was the same sensor, and that's why there's two wires on the plug, but i can't find the plug to replace the sensor.

I used to have a diagram in the glove box in my car for that, but my husband has my car today
When he gets home I will check and see if it is still in there and post it up here if it is. There are 2 temp. sensors that I am aware of, one is for coolant and one is for recirculation gas temp. EDIT: I found a diagram in my chiltons book, though it is not a "great" diagram, it gives you an idea of where both of the sensors I mentioned above are at. FWIW, the ECU coolant temp sensor is below the intake manifold near the back of the driver's side of the engine; easy to reach. There are two sensors screwed into the coolant channel there pretty much side-by-side and I don't remember which is which, but think if you search "temp sensor" or check how-to docs you'll unearth some details and pix. You'll probably be able to tell just by looking at the part you have. You'll need a deep well socket, 22mm, as I recall.

Sounds like you're talking about different sensors
There are two coolant temp sensors in the area that Dcarb described. The EGR system is over on the passenger side at the rear of the head, it connects down to the passenger side exhaust manifold.

Since the web "compressed" the photo if you want the full size photo so you can read it better, send me a PM with your Email address and I will send it to you.
