Steering Rack Problem?

After installing my trans oil cooler, I was checking for leaks and noticed that there is a slight amount of play, in and out, where the ty-rod is connected to the rack. This condition is pretty much equal on both sides. I have not felt anything in the steering and the car does not wander. How much play is allowable and is this adjustable?

You should not feel any appreciable play in the joint, and it is adjustable.

Harvey.
