Front Control Arm Bushes
I just learned that Subaru only sells complete control arms for $385 and does not sell the inner rubber bushes. Same old SVX story.
Apparently they are not difficult to change with a press (which I have) if I can get the parts. Does anyone know a source for conventional rubber or polyurethane bushes? Do any of the SVX aftermarket shops sell them?

As far as I know, you do, in fact, have to replace the whole arm. I've never heard of someone pressing in new bushings.
Someone please chime in if i'm wrong! Mike |

If I get a minimum 50 piece order I can get them made.

I'll probably buy 3 sets myself. I can get whoever needs them a complete set of them at the end of April. I have some spare front control arms. I should be able to press them out without any damage.

I'm sure they would cost the same as the polyurethane rear differential mounts.

Ken, let me know which arm it is you need. I have a parts car I could take it off of and just replace the whole arm

David,
Please start a separate thread on the control arm bushings and put me at the top of the list for a complete set! -Bill p.s. Kudos to David for helping give the SVX the ride it should have always had. Used in conjunction with SVXFiles "$15/15min" mod, we're actually getting to the point of having a car that doesn't have marshmellows for bushings!

I need the left front control arm. That would be great to get a good used one considering I am at 205K miles now. My '92 motor is fixed. Rough running got worse and then it went onto 5 cylinders. #4 coil went bad. The new coil fixed both issues so the rough running must have been the deteriorating coil. I'll call you this weekend. Ken
