When I changed my radiator and hoses it took just shy of 2 gallons of "mix"
mix= 50/50 antifreeze to water (BTW green regular stuffs) You have a drain on the bottom passenger side of your radiator. use it a few times. Go to Valvoline and spend $70 instead of $20-$40 make them do it and get everything out of the system the first time

Auto parts stores sell a kit that you splice into your heater core hose and it allows you to hook a garden hose up the the cooling system and poewrflush it all out.
Shouldn't be more than $5 for the kit. They also sell some cooling system cleaner. Never tried it personally, I usually just flush it with water until it's clear then add straight coolant in to displace the water to achieve the correct mixture.

Which hose for flush kit?
Which hose do you splice the flush kit into? Can you (or somebody) post pix? Many thanks!

Just remember to be friendly with your old stuff. There are heavy metals present and antifreeze tastes sweet to pets and varmints - the downside being it crystalizes their little kidneys and livers.

Just flushed mine last weekend....
Sorry, no pix, but I got one of those flush kits from Wal-Mart (I think it was about $3.50) and spliced it into the heater hose going from the engine to the firewall on the driver's side. It took about 5 minutes. Then I connected my garden hose and flushed it until it was clear.
