It "was hit" pretty hard? Really... That's hard to believe. Only 1800 miles on an M3, and it "was hit."

Gather around kiddies (don't take this literally) and let me tell you a scary automotive tale.

Actually those are pics from a sad story about someone who ordered a custom speced BMW M3, forget the name of it, straight from the factory or wherever they tune it.

And with these models they are usually inspected at the dealer and even test driven on their track by a driver who is "supposedly" experienced BMW driver, you will soon find out why I said that. So it was being inspected until they found a minor problem, forgot what it was while reading the post a while back. But regardless they fixed and then took it to the test track where it went through all the maneuvers. But after all was complete they could of given back to the customer but no, the test driver wanted to take it for one last joy ride around the track and while doing so lost control and smashed it into a concrete chicane. It was then trucked over to the dealerships where the mechanics there inspected it and concluded that it would be close to impossible to repair it without replacing most of the car. The customer asked if he could get a replacement since it was the BMW dealership that wrecked it, and not even on an official run. But the dealership refused, they did start to try to repair some of the fender damage without him knowing and asked for compensation for that. So he fought with them for a replacement but they refused, even to the point of threatening to sue. Then he figured he could bring it to a local mechanic that would undertake this endeavor. But then the dealership even refused to give the BMW to him stating that it is still their property and offered some credit towards the purchase of a new one. That was the last straw for that customer and he took them to court. And to add insult to injury while the case was being reviewed in court they put it on sale, even though it was technically still his. After exposing that the dealership agreed out of court to cough up every penny he paid for that car including some extra cash for the trouble, that car is still on sale TO THIS VERY DAY.

I’m not sure how accurately I told it but from what I remember I read that is the gist of it. I’ll try to find the link.

You stole my thought... the telephone pole must have been going sideways when he hit my BMW. or the other way around...

This reminded me of thing that hapopned last week. Very sad...

The car is a BMW 850 that has many Dinan parts. From the looks of the pics, he may have concentrated on the go-fast parts and not the suspension or brakes. This happened during a spirited drive in the mountian roads after a BMW meet. The same thing happened to a Honda S2000 at the last meet. In both cases everybody walked away with only a couple of bruises.
