tranny flush and fill

my dad just had a tranny flush and fill done for the first time on a car with 150000 on it. personaly i fill if you dont do it reguarly that i could be a bad thing because it pushes the sediment that is caked on the pan up into the tranny, if you dont have a filter which i dont. what are your opinions?

If done correctly, the flush and fill filters out everything that could be in the system. It is supposed to stir things up so they can be filtered out.

I had a friend ask me to take a look at his Ford Truck after he had a flush done. It was shifting “funny”
I pulled the dipstick and found an orange fluid all the way up the dipstick. They had not done the job completely and most of what was in is Trans was the flush solvent/cleaner, and it was ~ 4qts overfilled. They ended up buying him a new transmission.

Well that's terrible. The cleaner is suppose to go in first then quite a few flushes of ATF. My dealer said it was something like a total of 20 flushes or recycling phases. I din't ask just how many were for the cleanser and how many were ATF............
